About us

Hi. We are Greg and Suzanne Albrecht. We've been living and working in the UK since January 2006. In April 2010, we moved to Slough, a town just west of London, to pastor the Slough congregation of Every Nation Church London. And it is here that our lives have really started to make sense.

Amongst many other things, we have discovered the challenge and joy of not just wanting to build a church but to really make disciples (that is to help people follow Jesus); we have been blessed with three children: Liya-Jean, Pierre and Etienne; and Suzanne has pursued one of her life-long passions - to be a fitness professional.

For us, Slough has been a place for the 'new', which is what we believe this town is all about. We believe Slough has a great destiny, one of redemption, one where Jesus makes all things new... Watch this space!

Where do I start?

As much as many professional bloggers would probably want to declare this blog 'dead on arrival', for some reason I keep resurrecting it. And there we already have a theme brewing... But I will resist! I suppose I believe that this is a good place to process thoughts and feelings and it typically comes to mind when the need arises. Plus, there might be someone out there who benefits from these totally random thoughts. Who knows... Crazier things have happened! Since our last post a million years ago, we have concluded that God is calling us to Wales! And more specifically, to plant an Every Nation church in Cardiff. It's been a crazy journey. We have lived in and loved Slough for the last 12 years. It's the greatest church community one could possibly hope to belong to. 4 weeks and counting...

Today we have exactly 4 weeks left before the final count down to being parents. I have my moments when I realise how overwhelming it is to make this statement. But, there is nothing we can do about it...she is on her way and we just trust for the best. The end of year is approaching  rapidly and I stand amazed at how productive this year was. We have grown as individuals and as a unit. Living abroad is becoming more and more of a reality to us and we just trust God that our daughter will connect with her family back home in ways that He will orchestrate. Things are going really well at church. We are growing as a congregation and experiencing different levels of God. He is always faithful to show up, and He makes our efforts here successful. The certainty of the past

I'm feeling particularly emotional this morning. This last weekend was our London church's thirtieth anniversary, the church that has been shaping my life for the last twenty one years! Well, Jesus really, but through this church and the amazing people that call Every Nation London home. My friend, Pierre, and I first walked through those doors at the end of 2002 as students on a summer break, doing dodgy cash-in-hand jobs in the great city!  And feeling emotional means only one thing to a man in his early forties... Blog! I mean, does anyone still write blog posts? Or read them?! Either way, I do enjoy writing my annual post.  Back to my story, I've been reliving so many memories.
