The Bible, the pub and normal women

What an interesting evening last night! I've been going through the Purple Book (a little book on Biblical Foundations) with 2 good friends of mine, Paul and Michael, maybe for the last 4 or 5 months. We came to our last session and decided that we would go to the pub for a serious plate of food to celebrate. So, last night, we went and the food was serious (they don't call it the big plate special for nothing) and Mike ended up having 2 plates! After dinner, we opened our Purple Books and started talking about the last chapter 'Resurrection and judgement'. The conversation quickly moved to the reality of another life after this one and how we should have an urgency to help people get a revelation of Jesus in this life rather than in the next. So we talked about meeting people, really loving them, helping them get to know our awesome God... and the challenges of actually doing so. As these things go, before we knew it, we had a stranger sitting at our table and se...

It's good to be alive!

A phrase that's been on my mind lately. It's so much better to be thankful for the good things in life than worry about the problems or challenges. At the end of the day, worrying doesn't change anything. Suzanne, Liya-Jean and I just got back from EPEG (European Pastors Equipping Gathering) in Edinburgh. I was great. I love connecting with our church family from all over Europe: Marseille, Madrid, Innsbruck, Dublin, Edinburgh, Berlin, Krakow, Salzburg, Gent and even Moscow! Speaking of Moscow, we'll hopefully have the opportunity to go visit our friends there soon - that would be really awesome! Anyway, things are going really well. I'm excited about new ideas and processes for church, but most of all that I can be confident to walk in the good works that have been prepared for us. God bless you

Revive me!

That's what I feel this blog is screaming. So I thought why not... let's fire it up again. Things are going really well with the Albrecht family. 2012 has started with a bang! Among other things, I went to Austria for a few days with the Every Nation Europe pastors just to hang out and catch up. It was really good. I also had the opportunity to do some snowboarding and I'm hoping to get a call to start a church in the Alps as a result :). Suzanne is doing more aerobics classes and is working at the coffee shop only 3 days a week now. Our goal is for her to have enough regular classes to stop working at the shop altogether. Liya-Jean is becoming a not only walking, but also talking member of the family. Her favourite words are 'mammie' (mommy), 'mammie' and 'mammie'... with a very occasional 'pappie' (daddy) and 'amen'! The church is also doing really well. Services have been full with a great vibe every Sunday. We've got a few...
